Tom Strong was...

a husband of one wife, a loving father, a good friend, an inspiring teacher, a competitive coach, a great man, and most important, a christian. After a brief battle with a reoccurance of caner, he went back to the Father, Friday, December 9 at the age of 62. A memorial service was held in his honor yesterday. It was great to see so many of his church family, past students, and friends show up to recognize such a great human being. He was the father of a dear friend of mine(pictured with him). He was also my teacher and coach from 6th through 8th grade. He has been a friend ever since, always calling me "friend and loyal American". Though, for the longest time I just thought he was only saying that... as I grew older, I realized that he was a friend. In the classroom, he taught more than just history, he taught his students respect... for authority, peers, and all human beings. Yesterday we all said fairwell to a great man... but I know that he is home with the Father.
I just wanted to honor a man worth honoring today... his life was a inspiration to all who knew him. May God bless you in this holiday season.

Very good, David. Thank you for honoring this man... he clearly deserves to be honored. It's a joy to know that he's gone to be with the father, who has said to him, 'welcome home, son, welcome home.' Good job D, and merry chrstmas
